Imperial 350N Custom – A Steampunk Twist with a Touch of Fantasy
Today, we’re sharing a unique custom project – our well-known and loved Imperial 350N, but with a completely fresh look!

The classic cut has been enhanced with striking quilting: diamond stitching on the main panels and horizontal lines on the forearms, giving the jacket a one-of-a-kind character. We used contrasting blue thread for the stitches, paired with a blue collar and matching trim along the front edge. The base color – cool gray – makes all these details stand out beautifully.
A New Aesthetic – From Futuristic Uniform to Steampunk Vibes

The standard Imperial jacket is known for its smooth, unstitched surface, inspired by futuristic military uniforms. Adding diamond quilting completely changes its personality – the longer cut and wide asymmetrical front flap now give off a mix of steampunk flair and fantasy style. This is a perfect example of how just a few design tweaks can transform the whole garment.
Looks and Durability in One

While these changes are mainly visual, dense quilting might also improve the jacket’s durability, making it more resistant to wear and tear. We don’t have hard data to back it up, but our experience tells us that quilted jackets often hold their shape and last longer compared to models without surface stitching.
Should We Add New Custom Options?

Working on this project made us think – what if we offered multiple quilting options in the customizer?
Imagine being able to choose straight lines, diamonds, more elaborate stitch patterns, or no quilting at all. This would make designing your own unique jacket even easier.
What do you think about this idea?
