From Sci-Fi to Textile: The CYBER Pattern
Our range of printed fabrics in HF is slowly but steadily growing. We started with highly historical designs, mainly medieval patterns, and gradually introduced more contemporary motifs, such as classic checks (check here). For some time now, we’ve also been working on fabrics inspired by science fiction and futuristic design – visions of the distant future and space travel.
And that’s exactly what this post is about.

Inspiration – Futuristic Design
Browsing dozens of sci-fi films and illustrations, we noticed a recurring trend: simple geometric patterns often dominate futuristic designs, especially hexagons. In sci-fi, they are sometimes raised, sometimes recessed, often glowing, or filled with complex electronics or mechanisms. These structures in fiction serve all kinds of functions: monitoring vital signs, self-repairing, adapting to their owner…
Of course, we can’t reproduce these functions today – but who knows what the future holds!

Creating the CYBER Pattern
We focused on a hexagonal pattern, inspired by nature’s perfect solutions, like honeycombs. We also added subtle lines reminiscent of electrical schematics, giving the design a technological, futuristic feel.
And that’s how the CYBER pattern was born – a fusion of natural geometry and visions of advanced technology.
Prototype and Your Feedback
In the photos, you can see the prototype in two variations:
► black on grey fabric,
► light blue on white fabric.
The blue version was created especially at your request after a poll in our group. Will CYBER make it into our customizer? We’re not sure yet, but there are plenty of possibilities.

Now It’s Your Turn
What do you think of this pattern? In which colors would you like to see it? Let us know in the comments – your feedback really helps us shape the fabrics we create!
